After doing laser it is important for the next 24 for 48 hours that the client does not exercise, take hot showers or bathes, swimming, going to sauna or steam rooms. It is important to keep the treated area free from any strong products like perfumes and creams, make up or sun. However, after the 24 to 48 period, it is important to apply sunblock for the next 4 weeks. This also means no tanning in between the 4 week periods of the treatment. The client cannot be tanned when coming in to do a laser session.
The day before laser:
The client has to come with the area that wants treated shaven. Clients cannot tweeze and wax in between sessions. The hair still has to be in the follicle for the laser to work. If there is no hair in follicle, there will be nothing to be treated.
The day of:
If the area treated is an underarm please do not apply deodorant before coming in.
Make sure the treated area is free of hair, body creams, sunblock and make up etc.
The client gets a blister or feels burning after a laser session; they can apply vitamin E serum or polysporin. They can repeat 3x daily. Also, cool gaze\wipes or cooling pads. Avoid exposing that area to the sun so that it does not increase the risk of pigmentation.
